We are seeking a skilled back-end developer to join our IBM Software team. As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products, working with a variety of technologies and programming languages.

**Your role and responsibilities**
Keycloak is the leading open source Identity and Access management platform, and part of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). It provides a broad range of capabilities to secure applications in a cloud-native environment, such as single sign-on (SSO), identity brokering and user federation.
As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role to help us to push features forward in the upstream open source community and assist us in ensuring the cloud native foundation is rock solid.
In this role, you will work as a key member of the Keycloak team and focus on making Keycloak an excellent example of a Quarkus based product, while working with the Keycloak Operator and making the product easily accessible on Kubernetes. You will work within IBM, Red Hat, and the upstream Keycloak community to investigate, develop, and test new core features and capabilities. You will also be collaborating with other teams and upstream communities like OpenShift and Quarkus.
In this role, you will interact and closely collaborate with other teams at IBM and Red Hat, consuming or utilizing Kubernetes. As a Software Developer on the Keycloak Cloud Native team, you will contribute to our mission by utilizing Kubernetes in a cloud native way, and harnessing the power of Operators to simplify and streamline the deployment and management experience.
**Required technical and professional expertise**

Software Development Expertise:
Background in software development, demonstrating expertise in programming languages such as Java.

Cloud Technology Proficiency:
Experience with cloud-based technologies, showcasing familiarity with modern cloud ecosystems and tools, such as Kubernetes and Operators.

Self-Starter Mindest:
A self-starter with a proactive mindset, able to initiate and drive projects independently.

Excellent Problem-Solving Skills:
Demonstrated excellence in problem-solving, with the ability to tackle complex issues and find effective solutions.

Collaborative Team Player:
Ability to work seamlessly as part of a team, contributing to collective goals and fostering a collaborative work environment.
**Preferred technical and professional experience**

Experience contributing to open-source projects, particularly Keycloak or other identity management solutions.
*
Experience with Quarkus
*
Familiarity with authentication and authorization protocols (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML).
*
Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in Java software development.
*
Strong understanding of core Java concepts and design patterns.

Proven experience with building and deploying applications in cloud environments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift).
