How will you make an impact in this role?

As an engineer supporting the General Counsel’s Organization (GCO), you will engineer and integrate solutions that leverage best-of-breed vendor products and services to support the mission of the GCO to protect and strengthen American Express through world-class expertise and strategic advice.

As a part of our technical team, you will work to bring ground-breaking and diverse ideas to life that power the digital systems, services, products, and platforms that our GCO colleagues depend on.
Automating Legal workflowsBuilding seamless integrations between vendor products and the Amex environment by developing APIs, utilizing enterprise file transfer, and Identity and Access platformsCollaborating with product owners, delivery managers, vendors, engineers, architects, and key stakeholders to resolve complex technical problems and create solutions for the GCO portfolio.Maintaining the Platform Health of vendor products through vulnerability remediation, CMDB validation and maintenance, threat modeling, and ensuring enterprise resiliencyJob Responsibilities:
Function as an engineer on an Agile team, contributing to the technical delivery through consistent engineering practices (usage of enterprise tools, reusable components, and technical documentation)Develop deep understanding of GCO application logic, middleware, backend technologies, and dependencies within the context of a hybrid environment (SaaS and on-prem)Perform technical aspects of software development, configuration, and remediation for assigned applications including design, developing prototypes, and coding assignments.Develop, support, configure, and maintain strategic applications for Global Real Estate portfolio of applicationsProvide L2/L3 production support for GCO applications.Automate deployments in test and production environments and leverage enterprise CI/CDEffectively communicate with technical and non-technical peers, and business partners to gather requirements and communicate solutions.Demonstrate strong leadership in developing and resolving technical issuesAccountability for platform health including system performance, platform availability, vulnerability remediation, standards alignment, information security, and data management.Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of software development experience in a professional environment or comparable experienceBachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experienceHands-on experience with Java, API development, file-based integration development, and microservicesWorking knowledge and practical experience with RDBMS datasetsProven ability to solve technical problems and the ability to influence othersFamiliar with Agile or other rapid application development methodsAbility to handle multiple priorities and deadlines with independent judgement.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience in the Legal technology domainExperience in Workflow Automation / Business Process Automation (BPA) platforms, Tonkean experience is a plusExperience with Java, functional programming, asynchronous programming, the concepts of clean codeHave expertise with Spring, React, relational and non-relational databases, cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelinesEnjoy automating systems, improving reliability, and challenging processes with the goal of continuous improvement
Salary Range: $78,000.00 to $124,750.00 annually + bonus + benefits
