As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Banking Payments Technology group, you will be an experienced member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering reliable, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Your role involves implementing essential technology solutions across diverse technical domains, supporting various business functions to achieve the firm's strategic goals.

 

Job responsibilities 

Builds and maintains meaningful relationships with key sponsors across Technology, Product, and Operations, ensuring alignment on business needs, requirements capture, and use case development within an Agile framework.Oversees project management tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning while working closely with product managers on prioritization, blocker management, and escalation.Act as a subject matter expert within Agile teams, ensuring requirements are met through user due diligence, test case validation, and UAT coordination, while coaching and mentoring less experienced analysts and engineers.Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesCollaborate with Product, Technology, and Operations to define, document, and manage technical requirements throughout the full SDLC, translating strategic goals into actionable technology solutions.

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience

Demonstrated knowledge of the Temenos T24 Banking Application or similar products, focusing on areas such as payments, accounting, and reporting.Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), along with knowledge of database management systems such as SQL, MongoDB, and Cockroach DB.Understanding of security protocols and data protection measures in cloud environments, as well as knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and processes.Experience with Integration Framework (IF), Interaction Framework, IRIS API, and Camel Interfaces, along with expertise in using data migration tools, scripting, and DevOps tools. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityProficient in coding in one or more languagesExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CycleSolid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
