As a Senior Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, within Cloud Foundational Services Marketplace (Infrastructure Platforms), you are an essential part of a curious and inspiring agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver Public Cloud products to application development teams across the entire firm. You’ll work with modern automation tools to enable Infrastructure as Code approaches on Public Cloud platforms. You’ll understand, develop and apply cyber controls on Public Cloud ensuring usage aligns with firm wide cyber policies. As a Senior Software Engineer you are in the middle of the most complex problem areas driving out solutions as part of the team.

Job responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsProvide technical support and consultation to Product Lines and Lines of Business platform usersCreates and owns secure and high-quality production level codeProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceExperience in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles using Terraform on Public Cloud (AWS preferred)Experience of developing and testing using automation frameworksProficiency in one or more programming languages (Go, Python, Java)Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CycleSolid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

AWS and Terraform CertifiedProficient in designing and provisioning applications on AWS Services, Terraform and SentinelFamiliarity with modern front-end technologies
