As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Global Banking Technology team, you play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. As a key technical contributor, you are tasked with implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical domains, supporting various business functions to achieve the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceExperience in the Software Development Life Cycle, including hands-on development experienceHands-on experience in Java/J2EE, REST Services, Spring bootStrong experience writing complex SQL queries, joins, CTE, window functions, and stored procedures.Hands-on experience in public cloud - AWS and extensive experience with ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, Eventbridge, and Step Functions, as well as infrastructure automation using TerraformProficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs for enterprise-scale applications.Ability to design software systems using object-oriented principles and practices.Experience in building Decoupled Systems. Proficiency in using design patterns and technologies to decouple system components, enhancing flexibility and maintainability.Proficiency in unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito for ensuring code quality.Knowledge of messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker, GitHub Actions or GitLab CIFamiliarity with DevOps practices, containerization and orchestrationExperience with SQL performance tuning, JDBC, and ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA)Exposure to Spring Batch, Spring Boot, microservices patterns, and REST API development
