As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. You will be responsible for implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas, supporting various business functions to achieve the firm’s business objectives.

 

Job responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsAnalyze, develop, test and support cloud, big data and java solutions required to fulfill business and technology requirementsProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesDrive the improvement of the platform and underlying systems

Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate manual processes and recurring issues to improve the overall operational stability of the platform

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CycleProficient in coding in one or more languages: Core Java , collections, Exception Handling, Generics & Multithreading, Spring boot, JavaScriptDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline: Big data stack – Spark, S3, Kafka, etc., Cloud technology, AWS, DatabricksStrong understanding of data, data modeling and database methodologies and architecture disciplinesAdvanced SQL and data management knowledgeExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesStrong understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

AWS Cloud Certification and other relevant certifications are a plusData Engineering Experience
