Team Overview

Applied Material's Common Systems Software team develops the software for the control system of semiconductor process equipment. This includes developing interfaces for advanced sensors, designing the data and control flow, creating algorithms for the optimal material engineering on an atomic scale and the real-time control of devices such as robots, motors, generators, pumps, and flow controllers. Other aspects of our work include the design of the user interface, data collection, storage and analysis, machine learning and analytics, remote access, and security.

Key Responsibilities

Design, prototype, and develop complex software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devicesDesign common software modules and libraries for use across multiple productsTroubleshoot a variety of difficult software problems and design and implement bug fixesSuggest and implement improvements to the development and troubleshooting processDefine software specificationsDevelop software documentationContribute to technical review boards for assigned programsInterface with internal and external customers for requirement analysis, project schedule and software troubleshooting

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree or higher4 - 7 years in a relevant field

Technical Skills

Proficiency and experience in C++ required

Programming experience in several of the following areas desired:

Real-time ControlMotion ControlEmbedded ProgrammingI/O (synchronous and asynchronous)Multi-threading, performance profilingC#, .NETgRPC, REST, TCP socketsVisual StudioSource ControlMatlab

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
