As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Bank team, you serve as a member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

As part of the Rates Technology team you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

You will work directly with stake holders to understand business cases and problems and be responsible for the full pipeline of software delivery. You will build up relationships with internal clients and take full ownership for software delivery. You should be a self-sufficient developer comfortable tackling new and complex problem sets.

Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Object Oriented Design and Development knowledge Experience in Python and/or Smalltalk (or other Object Oriented Language)  Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals Interpersonal skills for effective working in a globally distributed team Automated unit testing Great object oriented developers needed to build global risk & transaction management system for fixed income securities on a Python and/or Smalltalk with NoSql platform using a fully automatic test and deployment tool-chain in an efficient Continuous Delivery process.
