As a Software Engineer II - Python Developer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you'll serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesSupports BAU operations for Markets businesses like FX, Rates, Credit and SPG, ensuring smooth functionality and addressing any issues that arise.Debugs code and fixes production scenarios to maintain operational stability and performance.Provides Level 3 (L3) support for production systems, addressing complex issues and ensuring high availability and reliability.Collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance production support processes and improve system performance.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experienceKnowledge of Python language.Excellent coding, automated unit testing, refactoring, OOO design.Passionate about programming.Good design skillsGood understanding of OOPS and experience in one object oriented language.

Knowledge of AWS Data SourceCandidate will be expected to understand the Markets Business and work on flagship product Athena and its Ecosystem gaining expertise to various in-house Athena core frameworks. Exposure to Test driven development preferred. Previous experience in supporting BAU operations for Markets businesses.Proficiency in debugging and fixing production scenarios to ensure system reliability and performance.Experience in providing Level 3 (L3) support for production systems, with a focus on resolving complex technical issues.
