As a Software Engineer II at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Data Reds team, you will be part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, designing, and delivering the software components of the firm's cutting-edge technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of various components within a technical product, application, or system, while acquiring the skills and experience necessary to advance in your role.

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentActively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firm wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle that explore new and emerging technologiesContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability, while in an agile development environment (using supporting tools)Proficient and extensive in coding/development using one or more languages and frameworks (i.e., Python, Java, Py Spark, SQL, etc.)Solid understanding of software applications and technical processes within a related technical discipline (e.g. data ingestion, data storage, data serving, APIs, etc.).Understands data lake or data warehousing, data pipelining and other related technologies (e.g. Spark, ETL, Data Bricks, Snowflake)Hands-on experience with AWS cloud modules (e.g. S3, EMR, EKS, ECS, Lambda)Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAbility to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversightUnderstanding of logical and physical data modeling practices including catalog registrations (e.g. Glue, Unity) and data access controlsOverall knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and CI/CD pipelines, including Git hub and DevOps practicesSolid understanding on any Orchestration tools including (e.g. Control-M, Airflow, AWS Step Functions)
