C.H Robinson is seeking a Software Engineer II on our Global Forwarding engineering team where you will collaborate with product managers, fellow engineers, and business partners to design and deliver solutions that transform how we serve our global customers. You’ll be responsible for evaluating requirements, estimating tasks, managing risks, and implementing software that meets performance, quality, business, and security objectives. At C.H. Responsibilities:

Develop software and design solutions that meet customer requirements with a focus on performance and availabilityConduct gemba-style engagements with users to build empathy, deepen business understanding, and ensure solutions deliver valuePartner with engineering product managers and principal engineers to translate requirements into detailed technical designsConduct code reviews and write unit, integration, and acceptance tests to ensure high code qualityOptimize, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and maintainabilityTroubleshoot and resolve performance and availability issues in production environmentsCreate and maintain thorough technical documentationWrite secure code and proactively address security vulnerabilitiesEstimate development efforts and identify dependencies across teamsStay current with emerging technologies and industry trendsMentor and coach junior engineers; seek mentorship to grow your own skillsContribute to defining and adopting engineering best practices and lifecycle standards

Required Qualifications:

2+ years' experience developing and implementing commercial software2+ years' experience with object-oriented programming (e.g., C#, .NET)1+ year experience with relational (e.g., MS SQL, Oracle) or non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Elastic, Cosmos)Familiarity with HTTP and RESTful architecture1+ year experience with unit, integration, and acceptance testing1+ year experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, TFS)1+ year experience with CI/CD practicesBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IS, MIS, or related field, or 4+ years of equivalent work experience with a high school diploma/GED

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with system integration or global projectsBackground in transportation, logistics, or business systemsProven success delivering software in an Agile environmentExperience building cloud-native applications (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)Familiarity with data streaming and messaging frameworks (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, ESB)Self-motivated with strong communication and customer focusGrowth mindset open to feedback and continuous learningCommitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment

Compensation Range

$77,000.00 - $173,600.00

The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
