How will you make an impact in this role?

We are in looking for a strong Agile Software Engineer to join our team for Amex in a box program. This position suits someone who can hit the ground running, form good working relationships quickly and add value by introducing best practice design and techniques learned elsewhere. The successful candidate will be able to know when to stand their ground, and when to “let things be”. While the whole team is responsible for quality, it is the engineer who will guide those efforts to ensure quality throughout the product development lifecycle. Responsibilities: Serve as a member of an agile team that drives user story analysis and elaboration, designs and develops software applications, and tests and builds automation tools. Development of Applications, Automation and Testing solutions in CI/CD environment. Work with Engineers to drive improvements in application code quality, automation of manual tasks, etc. Develop Solution designs, Architecture, Test Plans, Strategies, etc. Create and execute automated test cases/scripts at any level as required (Unit, Integration, Component Integration, System Integration, Exploratory). Maintain organization of Test case suites (BVT/Regression/Targeted Regression). Validate and report on test results for software quality improvement. Coordinate “Quality at Every Step” – Involved in the review of the user story backlog and requirements specifications for completeness and weaknesses in development, function, performance, reliability, scalability, testability, usability, and security and compliance testing, and provides recommendations. Work with Product Owners to prioritize features, maintain documentation and known issues. Work with other QEs in the platform to ensure cross contamination of changes does not have an adverse effect on the platform. Work with other engineers to ensure a consistent messaging across the platform. Must be a hands on person Good programming skills in Java or Python is necessary Demonstrable coding skills in Selenium is a must Demonstrable coding skills with JMeter/Scala script is a plus Working knowledge on Automation framework development for UI and API testing, Rest-assured API test automation and BDD/Cucumber/Serenity 7+ years of equivalent experience in related disciplines Functional Skills/Capabilities:
·     Demonstrated technical capabilities and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a range of stakeholders
Technical Skills/Capabilities: Proven record of whitebox and blackbox testing capabilities in an enterprise setting is a plus Good understanding of testing and automation capabilities such as mocking frameworks, JUNIT, TESTNG, Jenkins, maven, Git, Stash, JIRA Exposure to NO SQL, and SQL capabilities is a plus Experience in Cucumber or BDD framework is a plus Knowledge of Platforms: Windows / Unix Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS/GCP is a plus
