 Job Responsibilities:   

The role involves developing automation solutions as part of a small development team using various technologies. The team is unique within American Express and builds tools and automation used by testers across the Business Assurance organization in a UAT environment. While automation is the main focus, the role may also involve working on other projects as priorities of change.  

The team has varied skill sets and the ability to lead when asked or follow when asked is crucial to facilitate team harmony.   

Position is unique in nature and requires more than just the ability to code. The ability to communicate with non-technical peers is critical. If you can’t convey it, it doesn’t exist. Individuals should be able to think with breadth while always keeping the bigger picture in mind.  

Developing new and updated existing automation for Web portals and Window based Environment for our Clients.  

Incumbent should have a versatile approach to problem solving knowing when they have an answer and knowing when they don't.   

Works with business partners to produce automation to help drive business goals  

Identifies opportunities to adopt innovative technologies.

Required Skills/Qualifications:   

Master's degree in computer science or equivalent or bachelor's degree in computer science with a minimum of 5 + years in Automation development. 

Strong focus on automation development, including writing test cases, building frameworks, and automate functional tests.  

Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, and other rapid development environments.  

Solid experience in test-driven development, functional testing, regression testing, GUI testing, & API testing.  

Proficient with automation tools and technologies such as Python, Selenium, Playwright, Postman, Git, Excel Macros/VBA, SQL, Postgres Database and Jenkins. Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks like Maven, Cucumber, BDD, Data driven etc.  

Good communication skills with the ability to work closely with technical and business teams.  

Able to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test automation solutions  

Comfortable working with unclear or evolving requirements  

Quick learners with a strong interest in new technologies and delivering high-quality automation solutions.  

Passion for using technology and innovation to support business goals
