As a Software Engineer in Thales Embedded Product Development Team in ECC, you will participate in the design, implementation, validation and deployment of Embedded Products for major OEM customers.
A week in the life of an Embedded Software Engineer:
Based in Seoul, the candidate will be reporting to the Embedded Software Maintenance and Support Team Manager, with the core team located in Singapore.
Work closely with Korean customer and front-end team, to provide responsive support to customer requests in solving technical issues and answering technical enquires.
Develop, validate and deploy software components (for example advance software security mechanism and next-generation connectivity protocols) for embedded operating systems targeted for mobile devices, in applications such as mobile payment, digital identity and mobile connectivity.
Participate in the development of next-generation operating systems for future devices.
Being in agile development environment, working closely within team and multiple teams around the world to build great products exceeding customer expectations.
Contribute to continuous product and development methodology improvement.
Extensive training on the product, software and process will be provided. You are expected to travel to Korea multiple times for extended periods and visit customer premise to provide technical support.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering, or related fields
Around 20 years of relevant experience in embedded software development, with proven problem-solving and debugging skills.
Proficient in C/Java programming languages.
Excellent front end customer support experience with presentation and problem-solving activities at customer premise.
Fluent communication skills in English, and proficiency in Korean language is a plus.
Team player with good communication and collaborative skills, ability to work independently and being proactive.
Knowledge of embedded technologies/ecosystem, software security or Javacard knowledge is a plus.
