Software Engineer

Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineer as part of Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology, Capital Markets Risk Technology Team. The Capital Markets Risk Technology Data Strategy Team (CMRTDS) provides business solutions to support Enterprise Market and Counterparty Risk (MCRM) and other Risk teams. CMRTDS works with its business partners in identification, measurement, aggregation and reporting of Financial Risk across the firm. The department works closely with the lines of business to ensure that risks are being appropriately managed within the defined risk appetite for the firm.  The Risk systems perform valuation, simulation, aggregation and reporting of risk metrics and models on all simple (bonds) and complex (structured products, derivatives) security products. Team members will work with advanced mathematical models, theoretical pricing, statistical and stochastic models, VaR (Value at Risk), PFE (Potential Future Exposure), IMM (Internal Model Methodology), and stress. The Risk systems are comprised of intraday and overnight batch processes that handle staging for all trading position data and market data required for risk modeling as well as making this data available to the various risk valuation systems. Quantitative models and reporting support trading activities as well as regulatory and business reporting requirements.


In this role, you will:

Participate in analysis, design, and development of risk platform enhancements aligned to the data strategy and target state architecture.

Analyze/interpret the Data Modernization strategy across impacted disciplines, and develop and implement best-of-class data solutions.

Partner with Business and Technology in support of formalization of business requirements, translation of business requirements into detailed technical requirements, and participation in Agile-based workstreams via use of Jira. 

Assure quality, security and compliance for supported systems and applications

Review and evaluate user needs and determine requirements

Assist with refinement, and adherence to, Wells Fargo Agile Adoption Methodology

Understand and participate to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives

Conduct research and resolve problems in relation to processes and recommend solutions and process improvements

Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Support implementation of solutions spanning multiple teams for multiple product or capability domains

Ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported areas are met

Required Qualifications:

2+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

2+ years of Agile experience

2+ years of SQL experience

2+ years of Data Engineering Analysis

Desired Qualifications:

2+ years experience with SQL/Excel, Data Supply Chain management

2+ years experience change management, release coordination, and delivery

2+ years knowledge and understanding of data trade data management for reporting and quantitative analytics

2+ year knowledge and understanding of risk measures and calculations ( VaR, CVA, FPE, dv01, delta, vega, gamma)

A BS/BA degree or higher

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$37.02 - $69.71
