Job Description 50-62/hr Insight Global is hiring for a Software Engineer to sit hybrid in New York, NY for our large, media & entertainment client. This Software Developer will be joining the Direct-to-Consumer Organization within their Engineering team. This Software Developer will be working across the team and responsible for contributing to the design, development, and scalability of their media workflow systems. In this role, the developer will guide junior engineers, help design microservices, and support improvements in how metadata is processed. Furthermore, this developer will be responsible for the following: Design and build scalable microservices Develop backend systems for media and metadata workflows Mentor a team of junior engineers Work closely with principal engineers on the encoding platform Improve internal tools for automation and monitoring Create cloud-based solutions using AWS Manage media ingestion, encoding, and data flow Detect and respond to workflow issues Support Peacock’s shift toward a data-driven VOD platform We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements 4-7 years of software engineering/development experience Prior experience architecting micro service based applications software system as a collection of small, independent services that work together to form a larger application Background within AWS for cloud technologies Database Systems Experience: PostgresSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch Coding: Python or Golang (GO is preferred) Automation Tools: Kubernetes and/or Docker Prior experience with mentoring junior level developers Empathy & interpersonal skills for mentorship and collaboration Degree within Computer Science or a related field Background within front-end development (using JavaScript) Experience with media workflows or encoding platforms Designing data lakes or large-scale data systems
