Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer with over 8 years of professional experience in writing spacecraft flight software using C and C++. This role involves developing embedded software, performing cross-compilation, and integrating software with hardware. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Rust, Python, Git, Docker, Linux, and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Familiarity with spacecraft sensors, including RGB and infrared cameras, lidars, and laser range finders, is essential, as is experience with NASA's flight software framework.
ResponsibilitiesWrite and develop spacecraft flight software using C and C++.Perform embedded software development and cross-compilation.Integrate software with hardware components.Utilize Rust, Python, Git, Docker, and Linux in software development.Work with spacecraft sensors including RGB and infrared cameras, lidars, and laser range finders.Collaborate on projects using cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.Participate in software/hardware testing and integration, particularly in the Denver area.Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.Essential Skills8+ years of experience in spacecraft flight software development using C and C++.Proficiency in embedded software development and software/hardware integration.Skilled in Rust, Python, Git, Docker, and Linux.Experience with spacecraft sensors and NASA's flight software framework.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Green-Card Holder).Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.Work Environment
This position is based in a hybrid work environment located in South Denver, offering a blend of remote and on-site work. The role requires availability for software/hardware testing and integration in the Denver area.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Denver, Colorado.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $80.00/hr.
