Leidos tackles the most challenging national defense problems using advanced signal processing algorithms and data analytics. At our San Diego office, we have a dedicated and experienced team of scientists and software engineers devoted to squeezing the last bit of information from every data set. We are currently seeking software engineers / computer scientists to join our leading-edge research and engineering group.
In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary team members focused on Hydrodynamics, Physics, Acoustics, and Signal Processing to design, implement, and deliver cutting edge software solutions to complex problems.

Primary Responsibilities
Work alongside a team to incorporate scientific algorithms into a large code stream
Testing and evaluating new and existing software implementations
Assist in translation of existing software to make compatible with GPUs
Software Documentation
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related technical field with at least 6+ years of experience or Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain US Government Top Secret security clearance
Fluency in C/C++, Java, or Python
Strong understanding of software development and design principles and practices
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong software documentation skills
Scientific programming experience
Experience developing in Linux/Unix environment
Required on-site full-time work in San Diego, CA
Preferred Qualifications
Currently holds an active US Government Top Secret security clearance
Physics or Applied Mathematics background or major
Software architecture and object-oriented design
Understanding of Agile Software Development Methodology
Distributed processing programming
Experience applying advanced mathematical concepts in software applications
Experience programming in C/C++, single and/or multi-threaded applications

Pay Range:Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
