Software Engineer [Multiple Positions Available]

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Plan, coordinate, and oversee projects, ensuring that they align with the organizational strategy, budget, and quality standards. Gather business requirements and functional specifications for design and development to implement software solutions that meet business objectives. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take an active role in code reviews to ensure that solutions are aligned to pre-defined business and functional specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Application Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Designing and developing systems supporting banking business applications using COBOL, SCOBOL, and TAL; Defining databases and record definitions using DDL; Defining, creating, and maintaining file structures and databases using Enscribe; Defining and configuring online screen and server programs interlinked via Pathway; Defining, creating, and maintaining entry sequence, relative, and keyed files using FUP utility; Identifying root causes of production issues and determining resolutions using debugging tools such as Inspect, Visual Inspect, and eInspect; Building scrips to update production databases for processing client data; Preparing test files for clients using FUP, Excel, and Cobol; Preparing and uploading design, unit testing, and code review documentation to Confluence; and Defining and configuring Control M jobs.
