DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or in a related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Data Engineer, ETL Developer, Software Developer, or in a related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or in a related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Data Engineer, ETL Developer, Software Developer, or in a related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience in the following: Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including CI/CD process and agile methodologies; developing with programming languages Python and PySpark; building workflows using ETL tools such as Informatica and scheduling using tools such as Airflow, Control-M and Autosys; Hadoop ecosystem and querying patterns; AWS cloud services like S3, EC2/ECS, and Athena/Aurora; programming languages such as SQL or PL/SQL to access data or perform derivations/manipulations to the data as per business requirements; building reports for business consumption using tools such as Tableau and Business Objects (BO); and supporting production processes and debugging skills to identify and resolve the issues.
