As a Software Engineer on the watchOS System UI team, you’ll use your top-notch engineering skills and eye for quality to help deliver a delightful, reliable, and expertly polished experience for every Apple Watch user. You’ll contribute to all aspects of System UI, including Liquid Glass on watchOS, fluid transitions, SwiftUI APIs, and the creation of exciting new system-level features. **Description** Our team is responsible for the UI seen throughout watchOS. As a member of the team, you will work closely with Design, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and other Engineering teams to help make our system experiences seamless and intuitive. You'll take collaborative ownership of the development and quality of several important facets of watchOS System UI and play a defining role in the future of our products. **Responsibilities** + Collaborate closely with the Design team to create fluid, interactive experiences. + Craft efficient solutions tailored to the constraints of a small, low-power device. + Work closely with teams across Apple to architect robust and maintainable systems that will stand the test of time. + Coordinate with our QA and Automation partner teams for full test coverage to ensure that we meet the high expectations our users have come to expect. **Minimum Qualifications** + 2+ years of related software development experience. + Experience writing Swift and Objective-C code. + Familiarity with SwiftUI. + A proven record of completing projects on time and to specification. + Experience contributing to at least one shipping application or framework. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. + Enthusiasm for working on a cross-functional team. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience writing UI applications and optimizing for power and performance. + Experience improving and expanding on existing complex projects and systems. + A strong intuition for UI/UX design. + A keen interest in building consumer-facing applications and advocating for the best possible user experience. + Passionate Apple Watch wearer, or willingness to become one! **Pay & Benefits** At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $210,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
