Join our team to revolutionize privacy compliance through innovative technology solutions. In this role, you will design, develop, and operate key systems ensuring privacy compliance across Amazon, leveraging AI approaches while maintaining rigorous standards. You'll be instrumental in shaping our Privacy Data request service, which handles the intake, orchestration, and delivery of privacy requests throughout Amazon's ecosystem.

Your technical expertise in coding and problem-solving will directly impact how we scale and mature our privacy services, as you work on exciting initiatives including regionalization, horizontal scaling, and consolidating systems designed in 2019. You'll partner with a collaborative team of experienced engineers to deliver solutions that respect team tenets while working backwards from customer needs.

Key job responsibilities
1) Design and develop software solutions for privacy compliance systems, ensuring they meet high standards while supporting scaling via configuration
2) Contribute significantly to the full software development lifecycle including scoping, design, code, testing, deployment, and maintenance of privacy services
3) Leverage AI technologies while respecting team coding standards to ship reliable, maintainable code that solves complex privacy challenges
Actively participate in operational support, maintaining a high operational bar and ensuring that root causes of issues are identified and resolved
4) Collaborate with teammates to align delivery with competing goals, making effective priority tradeoffs between new feature development and operational work

A day in the life
Your day begins with reviewing system metrics from the on-call rotation dashboard, addressing any operational drifts to ensure systems operate within boundaries. You'll spend time coding new features for the privacy request orchestration system, implementing AI capabilities that respect team standards. You'll collaborate with colleagues during design reviews, providing meaningful feedback on privacy compliance solutions. Throughout the day, you'll monitor the performance of privacy data requests, partner with support teams on SLA concerns, and contribute to the team's regionalization initiatives.

Our team comprises 9 SDEs with a min. of 1 year tenure at Amazon. We own the Intake, Orchestration, and Delivery of Amazon Privacy Data requests. In 2026, we're focusing on scaling our service by completing regionalization work, implementing horizontal scaling, and consolidating entities designed in 2019 to mature our centralized models based on current learnings.
In addition to development work, our team maintains operational responsibility for the service through an on-call rotation that ensures systems work within boundaries, while functional and SLA monitoring is handled by a dedicated support team.
