Job Description The AI Platform Core Components organization, part of AI Engineering, is seeking individuals with a passion for open source and expanding the impact of Red Hat’s AI offerings for our customers and the community. As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a diverse team of highly motivated software and quality engineers to design, implement, and maintain product delivery pipelines for our AI portfolio. Your work will focus on automating, optimizing, and testing the productization of software to ensure high quality and fast delivery. Your contributions will directly influence how we deliver products to our customers and shape Red Hat’s rapidly growing AI/ML product family. We are looking for someone who brings a passion for open source software and its communities, along with a desire to help customers bring AI to their data and practices. **What you will do** + Design, implement, and maintain product delivery pipelines, and automate build, test, and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reliability + Monitor productization processes and performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement enhancements + Diagnose and resolve issues in delivery pipelines, and assist with deployment troubleshooting + Integrate automated testing into the delivery pipeline to ensure code quality and reduce manual testing efforts + Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for productization processes, guidelines, and best practices + Apply security best practices to delivery pipelines, ensuring compliance with industry standards + Coach and mentor junior team members to help expand their expertise + Collaborate with product management and other engineering teams to coordinate product releases and ensure smooth deployments + Explore and experiment with emerging AI technologies relevant to software development, proactively identifying opportunities to incorporate new AI capabilities into existing workflows and tooling + Proactively utilize AI-assisted development tools ( _e.g._ , GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) for code generation, auto-completion, and intelligent suggestions to accelerate development cycles and enhance code quality + Participate in AI-assisted code reviews, utilizing tools that provide real-time feedback, identify potential bugs, security vulnerabilities, and adherence to coding standards, contributing to a more thorough and efficient review process **What you will bring** + Experience in software development using programming languages such as **Python or Go** , and familiarity with scripting languages such as **Bash or Groovy** + Hands-on experience implementing and managing delivery pipelines, with proficiency in **CI/CD tools** such as **Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Tekton, or GitLab CI** + Experience with containerization technologies such as **Docker,** **Podman, Kubernetes, or OpenShift** + Demonstrated ability to implement and take ownership of complex features both independently and collaboratively + Strong problem-solving and **troubleshooting skills** with a focus on root cause analysis + Effective communication and collaboration skills + Ability to adapt to and work in a fast-paced, agile environment with evolving technologies and processes + **Bachelor’s degree in computer science** , information technology, or a related field **The following will be considered a plus:** + Experience with cloud platforms such as **AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or IBM Cloud** + Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as **Terraform or Ansible** + Relevant certifications, such as **AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Certified Jenkins Engineer (CJE)** + Understanding of **open source development models** + Experience with test-driven development (TDD), agile methodologies, and work-tracking tools such as **Jira** **About Red Hat** Red Hat (https://www.redhat.com/) is the world’s leading provider of enterprise open source (https://www.redhat.com/en/about/open-source) software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
