Software DevOps Engineer

**Your role:**
**Business Alignment & Engagement**
+ Define modernization scope and priorities with Business Unit stakeholders
+ Align practice and automation improvements with product delivery goals and constraints
+ Define measurable modernization outcomes co-designed with BU leadership
+ Communicate engagement progress and impact to BU stakeholders
**Craftsmanship Assessment Leadership**
+ Conduct software craftsmanship assessments for Business Units
+ Co-design improvement plans with BU teams and Prime squad members
+ Establish baseline metrics using engineering metrics (e.g., Dev Lake telemetry) and validate outcomes after improvements
+ Document assessment patterns and lessons learned for reuse across engagements
**Solutions Engineering for Code Hub Migration** s
+ Support Business Units migrating to Code Hub platform from legacy systems
+ Design integration approaches for legacy systems, tools, and workflows
+ Provide technical consulting on Code Hub platform adoption strategies
**Knowledge Transfer**
+ Provide technical mentoring, hands-on training, and pair programming with BU DevOps engineers to ensure sustained improvements post-engagement
+ Document delivered patterns, measure outcomes against improvement plan objectives, and conduct BU handoffs
**You're the right fit if:**
1. 10+ years of DevOps engineering experience with CI/CD automation using modern pipeline technology (GitHub Actions preferred)
2. Proficiency in scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and at least one modern language beyond scripting (e.g., TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#)
3. Demonstrated thought leadership on DevOps practices or software craftsmanship (e.g., clean code, TDD, BDD)
4. Quality orientation through software craftsmanship practices and code quality automation tools (code coverage, prevent code duplication, security scanning)
5. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work cross-functionally across Business Units, security and platform teams
6. Experience conducting technical assessments or maturity evaluations (plus)
7. Experience with Dev Lake, Apache DevLake, or engineering metrics platforms (plus)
8. Understanding of medical device software development lifecycle and compliance automation and evidence generation (plus)
9. Contributions to InnerSource or Open Source projects (plus)
