Who are we?
Ready to build Amazon's next $100B business? We're not just entering shipping—we're transforming how billions of packages move around the globe. By evolving Amazon's legendary fulfillment engine into an agile, intelligent shipping network, we're creating a resilient system that continuously optimizes to deliver on time, every time, for every business and every customer. Every shipment is more than just a box—it spins the flywheel faster, continuously enhancing our logistics network through scale, speed, and intelligence. As we increase density and reach, we're revolutionizing shipping for ALL businesses while simultaneously strengthening Amazon's own delivery capabilities—reducing costs and accelerating deliveries across our entire ecosystem.
What will you do?
We're hiring a Software Development Manager to lead our Pricing tech team. will be responsible for leading three pivotal products, each addressing a crucial aspect of our pricing ecosystem:
Strategic Cost Modeling & Simulation Platform:
This platform will have the capability to accurately predict costs 1-3 years into the future, a foundational element for pricing long-term contracts. We will develop innovative approaches to validate long-term predictions, provide risk assessments, and enable rapid simulations of cost impacts from changes in shipper profiles or network configurations. This team's work will directly impact our ability to price contracts profitably and manage long-term risk.
Pricing Recommendation Engine & Negotiation Tools:
Focused on empowering our sales team, we will develop data-driven pricing recommendations for the contract market. We will create a system that considers multiple factors including shipper profiles, willingness to pay, and network costs. Crucially, we will also build a control panel allowing leadership to set and adjust pricing guardrails dynamically, ensuring our pricing strategies can be quickly adapted to changing market conditions.
Capacity-Aware Dynamic Pricing System:
We need to tackle the challenge of real-time pricing in our spot market. By integrating with our capacity models and demand forecasts, we will build a system that optimizes pricing to maximize network utilization and profitability. This capability is essential for competing effectively in the fast-paced spot market while maintaining our profit targets.
Key job responsibilities
1. Drive technical excellence across multiple domains, from machine learning-based forecasting to high-throughput, low-latency pricing systems.
2. Partner effectively with business stakeholders, translating complex business requirements into clear technical direction.
3. Lead and develop senior technical talent and foster a strong engineering culture that empowers innovation.
4. Balance immediate business needs with long-term technical health, making judicious tradeoffs and investments.
5. Navigate the complexity of our business, understanding the interplay between contract and spot markets, and how technology can be leveraged to optimize across both.
