The role will involve understanding the physical and virtual transportation processes, from our fulfillment centers on to our final mile carriers who deliver our packages to our customers. As part of the Transportation Network Configuration (TNC) team you will combine business process knowledge, technical expertise, and software development skills to identify and drive product developments within our transportation network. To be successful in the role, you need strong team management, communication and technical skills, alongside with the ability to manage stakeholders’ expectations and drive planning activities for tech teams. We are looking for a seasoned Software Development Manager who is an accomplished engineering leader and is passionate to lead teams that design and build large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software solutions. The ideal candidate will have excellent people management skills, business sense, and rich experience leading the build of extensible and scalable solutions using AWS technologies to solve complex business features. About the team SCALE is a team with Transportation Network Configuration, delivering innovative solutions to ensure long-term scalability of the EU network configuration. The team is composed of SDEs, PMs, BIEs and Data Engineers who work together and cross-team to automate, simplify, standardize and audit configuration of transportation and sortation data. Basic Qualifications - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience in engineering team management - Experience in engineering - Experience partnering with product and program management teams - Experience leading and influencing the engineering strategy of the team or organization Preferred Qualifications - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers - Experience leading teams in implementing Generative AI/LLM solutions, including understanding of responsible AI practices, prompt engineering, and integration of large language models into production systems.
