Amazon seeks an innovative, capable, and motivated individual to be a Software Development Manager (SDM) on the Direct Tax Technology team, based in Hyderabad, India. The role is responsible for ensuring the tax professionals of Amazon's Global Tax Reporting and Compliance organization (R&C) are supported in their mission with world-class technology and processes built on AWS.
As a Software Development Manager, you will lead and build a team of world-class software engineers. You and your team will drive product development and partner with other Amazon teams and businesses to deliver highly available and customer-obsessed tools and services. This role is expected to lead by example to earn the trust of your team and customers.
Key job responsibilities
• Manage tax technology challenges with scalable solutions delivered in a quick-and-nimble fashion
• Manage and lead efforts that can involve multiple teams and deliver solutions with impact across the R&C organization
• Be a trusted advisor to R&C customers and engage on projects with high degrees of complexity and business criticality.
• Manage requirements, design, build and rollout solutions.
• Lead initiatives with multiple stakeholders and manage the complexity of competing needs and timelines.
• Support customers through reporting and compliance cycles, mentoring, troubleshooting and running processes as needed.
• Understand the solutions we have today, applying them where appropriate and inventing new capabilities when needed.
• Own multiple processes and/or parts of our technology toolset, providing subject matter expertise and mentorship
• Listen to customers across the organization and expand our toolset to the benefit of all, avoiding point solutions.
