Software Development Engineer - Content Infrastructure, Technical Content Experience
Build and maintain critical content automation systems that generate thousands of AWS documentation pages daily. Work across 9 distinct automation systems that create essential AWS documentation including service endpoints, quotas, regions, IAM policies, and CloudFormation resources used by millions of developers worldwide.

Drive the integration of these automation systems with our AI-first content platform while ensuring continuous delivery of accurate, up-to-date documentation that AWS customers depend on for operational decisions across the AWS ecosystem.

Join a specialized team maintaining the automated content infrastructure that transforms service metadata, API specifications, and operational data into high-quality documentation without manual intervention.

Key job responsibilities
- Build and maintain automation systems generating AWS documentation from service metadata and APIs
- Integrate content automation systems with the new AI-first content platform
- Work across 9 automation systems including CloudFormation resources, service endpoints, and quotas
- Collaborate with service teams to ensure accurate and timely content generation
- Implement content fingerprinting and quality validation for automated content
- Support legal compliance requirements including EU Data Act automation

A day in the life
You'll start your day reviewing automation pipelines that generate documentation for AWS services across multiple domains. You might investigate why service endpoints aren't updating correctly in the AWS General Reference, or work on the CloudFormation automation that generates documentation for hundreds of AWS resource types, collaborating directly with service teams to understand their metadata.

Your work directly impacts millions of AWS customers who rely on accurate documentation for service quotas, regional endpoints, IAM policies, and CloudFormation resources for their operational decisions. You'll spend time enhancing automations to handle new AWS services and data sources, ensuring the documentation stays current with AWS's rapid service expansion.

Beyond individual systems, you'll contribute to the broader content automation portfolio, helping integrate these critical systems with our new AI-first platform. This includes implementing content fingerprinting so the platform can identify and manage automated content alongside human-authored documentation.

About the team
You'll join the Content Automation team that maintains the invisible infrastructure powering much of AWS's customer-facing documentation. Our automation systems generate content for the AWS General Reference, service-specific documentation, and critical operational information that AWS customers depend on daily.

The team operates at the intersection of content creation and software engineering, building systems that automatically transform service metadata, API specifications, and operational data into high-quality documentation. We work closely with AWS service teams to ensure their documentation stays accurate and current without manual intervention.

We're currently integrating our automation systems with AWS's next-generation AI-first content platform. This presents exciting technical challenges around content identification, quality validation, and seamless integration with both automated and human-authored content workflows.
