We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer (SDE II) who will help us deliver seamless and efficient checkout experiences for our global grocery business, focusing on Point of Sale and Self-Checkout systems. As part of our team, you'll work in an agile environment to build and enhance innovative solutions that directly impact the customer shopping experience at Amazon grocery. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Amazon's high-growth grocery business. A day in the life • Lead software development and deployment lifecycle including design, development, documentation, testing, and operations • Work closely with business and technical teams to analyze complex business problems • Develop creative solutions while maintaining attention to detail • Contribute to architecture and design of new and existing systems • Ensure high standards throughout the development process Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language - Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence - Bachelor's degree or equivalent Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
