Key job responsibilities
- Designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems and services using: Object-oriented design; and Java.
- Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
- Build systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
- Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
- Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation.
- Translate functional requirements into robust, efficient, supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture.
- Participate in the full development cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance.
- Onboard and mentor junior development engineers.
About the team
The WW Events Tech team at Amazon hosts Deals based events (e.g., Prime Day), Seasonal Events (e.g., Back to School) and Cultural & Community occasions (e.g., Black History Month). This team builds and powers high-volume, automated technical solutions that scale for high traffic. You will be working closely with multiple teams to translate their business requirements to a tech solution involving API's, two way communication layer. You will also have the opportunity to design and build systems from the ground up to support events in Amazon.
