Entering this domain positions you at the heart of IBM, where growth and innovation thrive. **Your role and responsibilities** Keycloak is the leading open source Identity and Access management platform, and part of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). It provides a broad range of capabilities to secure applications in a cloud-native environment, such as single sign-on (SSO), identity brokering and user federation. Keycloak is aiming to become the preferred choice for a broad community of developers and customers to authenticate users for secure applications, fitted and performing well for a broad range of use cases. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in crafting exceptional experience for teams that run and maintain Keycloak. You will help the team push to provide a smooth and reliable experience for running Keycloak in production environments making it effortless to configure, deploy, upgrade and overall operate. You will steward Keycloak's ability to scale and perform efficiently and consistently in different types of deployments while being as simple as possible to run and maintain. In this role you will collaborate closely with other teams at IBM and Red Hat, especially with other Keyloak teams and the Infinispan project team. You will also engage with customers and our open-source community to gather feedback and understand their needs. You'll have the opportunity to directly influence the future design and roadmap of Keycloak. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in Java software development. * Strong understanding of core Java concepts and design patterns. * Proven experience with building and deploying applications in cloud environments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, Helm, Terraform). * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. * Ability to work seamlessly as part of a team, contributing to collective goals and fostering a collaborative work environment. * Experience with working in a geographically distributed team. * Demonstrated excellence in problem-solving, with the ability to tackle complex issues and find effective solutions. * A self-starter with a proactive mindset, able to initiate and drive projects independently. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Experience with contributing to open-source projects, particularly Keycloak or other identity management solutions. * Expertise in relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server). * Testing infrastructures for performance and resilience with functional tests, chaos tests and load tests. * Practical knowledge of Quarkus * Familiarity with authentication and authorization protocols (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML).
