**Introduction** **Your role and responsibilities** Software Developer, IBM Corporation, San Jose, California (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted): * Lead, design, and develop new features for Db2z, including documenting, testing, debugging, code fixing, and delivery. * Provide support for problem diagnostics on customer-reported problems by collaborating with the support team to communicate with clients, identify the root cause, and deliver high-quality final resolutions for the reported problems. * Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to perform fault analysis and fix internally found defects. * Drive Db2 z/OS new function tests with various scenarios by participating in scrum meetings to discuss new feature design, development, and test coverages. * Document test plan, construct test cases, execute query workloads, and verify defect fixes. * Utilize: PLX, JCL, SQL, Mainframe, Db2 structures, Git. Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Backend Developer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing PLX, JCL, SQL, Mainframe, Db2 structures, Git. $264514 to $315800 per year. Full time.
