The **Software Architect (Expert)** is theprincipal technical authority responsible for designing, implementing, and evolving secure, scalable, and robust data analytics and application solutions across a diverse portfolio of federal enterprise IT systems supporting mission-critical government operations. Familiarity with implementation of **Automation, Autonomy and AI** will be key for this position. This senior-level position requires a visionary technologist who can translate complex business requirements into elegant architectural solutions while ensuring alignment with federal security standards, cloud-native principles, and enterprise modernization strategies through the General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Systems Integration and Management (FedSIM) contract vehicle. The Senior Software Architect will lead architectural design efforts spanning cloud platforms, microservices architectures, data analytics pipelines, API ecosystems, and enterprise integration patterns while maintaining accountability for technical excellence, security compliance, performance optimization, and long-term system sustainability across multiple federal agency environments. Will design and implement secure, scalable, and robust data analytics and application solutions for the ARNG portfolio; develop and maintain business, systems, and information processes to support enterprise mission needs; and develop IT rules and requirements that describe baseline and target architectures. This role demands exceptional breadth and depth of technical expertise to navigate the complexities of federal IT modernization including FedRAMP-authorized cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government), containerized architectures (Kubernetes, Docker), serverless computing, event-driven systems, and hybrid cloud deployments. As the primary architectural authority for enterprise business systems, data platforms, and application ecosystems, the Senior Software Architect will establish and enforce architectural principles, design standards, technology selection criteria, and development best practices while fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and engineering discipline. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
