**The Opportunity**
+ Join the GEOINT Tradecraft Suite (GTS) program as a Software Architect supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
+ Guide long-term technical direction for a mature, mission-critical system with a large user base.
+ Collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to align architecture with mission goals.
+ Contribute directly as a senior developer, influencing both design and implementation.
+ Leverage your experience in secure, cloud-based systems to evolve the platform’s architecture in step with emerging technologies like LLMs.
**Responsibilities**
+ Define and maintain system architecture across multiple software components and services.
+ Lead integration of new capabilities with NGA Core Services and existing enterprise tools.
+ Provide hands-on support for software development, particularly in Java and cloud-native systems.
+ Collaborate with security engineers to ensure compliance with NGA cybersecurity standards.
+ Identify and evaluate new technologies (e.g., LLMs, AWS Bedrock) for incorporation into the architecture.
+ Work with program leadership to align architecture decisions with contract goals and milestones.
+ Assist in technical decision-making, including build vs. buy analysis and component selection.
+ Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
+ Represent GTS architecture in technical exchange meetings and customer engagements.
+ Author architectural documentation to support ATO, accreditation, and sustainment.
+ Support integration and deployment in classified environments.
**Qualifications**
_Required:_
+ Active TS/SCI clearance and a polygraph preferred.
+ Bachelors of Science in a scientific, mathematical, or engineering discipline, OR equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree
+ 10+ years of experience designing and maintaining system architectures in enterprise software systems.
+ Strong Java development background with hands-on coding experience.
+ Deep understanding of software integration patterns and practices.
+ Familiarity with NGA Core Services and IC integration challenges.
+ Experience with cloud-based architecture and deployments.
+ Working knowledge of LLM integration and application design.
+ Background in security engineering and secure software development practices.
_Desired:_
+ Prior team leadership or technical mentorship experience.
+ Front-end design experience, especially with React.js.
+ Familiarity with AWS Bedrock and generative AI service integration.
+ Experience optimizing relational and NoSQL database performance.
+ Understanding of Agile development practices and DevSecOps pipelines.

**Pay Range** : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$126,100 - 277,300 USD
