**Responsibilities**
This position serves as the float Social Worker amongst the inpatient psychiatry units, serving both adults and adolescents. As a float, your assignment may change daily or based upon the needs of the team, filling in for PTO or other scheduled time off. This position will be involved in providing brief psychotherapy, counseling, resource connection and will coordinate patient discharge planning needs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. You will be collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, complying with the required standards for medical and legal responsibilities, and serve as a valuable resource to other allied and administrative staff within the section of social work and the Department of Nursing.
Additional responsibilities include:
+ Under the supervision of a social worker who meets state required standards, conducts diagnostic assessment, determines clinical interventions, facilitates crisis intervention and psychotherapy and provides education for patients and their families.
+ Communicates effectively verbally and in writing while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external support systems.
+ Participates in the development and implementation of the treatment/transition plan.
+ Complies with ethical and NASW standards for social workers in a healthcare setting.

**Qualifications**
A MSW degree is required from an accredited Master of Social Work Program.
**Additional Qualifications**
+ Must have an advanced knowledge of categories in mental illness, personality development, knowledge of the types of psychiatric treatment, and skills in conducting individual, group, and family therapy.
+ Must have knowledge in adjustment to medical diagnosis and chronic disease.
+ Strong human relation skills are needed to interact with patients, patient's family members, consultants, residents, hospital personnel, community agencies, and other resources. Must also have psychosocial diagnostic skills.
**Licensure**
Licensure at the Licensed Graduate Social Work (LGSW), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), provisional LGSW, or provisional LICSW level from the Minnesota Board of Social Work (MN BOSW) is required. LGSW/LISW personnel, following 4000 hours of clinically supervised practice are eligible to apply for licensure at the LICSW level, and must by 8000 hours. A condition of employment at the LGSW/LISW level shall be the ability to practice clinically through a MN BOSW approved Clinical Supervision Plan leading to LICSW attainment within 8000 hours of employment post LGSW or LISW.

**International Degrees**

$67,454.40 - $113,921.60 / year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
