About this Job
The mission of the Acadiana Area Human Services District is to improve the qualify of life for citizens of Acadiana who have behavioral health and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Certified Social Worker (CSW) plus:
A master's degree in social work.
NOTE:
Permanent status will not be granted in this job title without LMSW or LCSW licensure in Louisiana; Certified Social Worker (CSW) credential will not be accepted for granting permanent status.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As a Social Worker, you will function in the capacity of a behavioral health counselor:
+ serving the acute and/or chronically mentally ill adult population, the emotionally/behaviorally disturbed child/adolescent population and their families and /or clients with addictive disorders/co-occurring disorders.
+ collaborating with psychiatrists, medical psychologists, nurses, pharmacists, and support staff regarding therapeutic interventions, diagnosis, and provision of evidence-based treatments via individual, family, or group therapy for clients indicated as meeting target population criteria.

Location: This position is located in the Acadiana Area Human Services District – Tyler Behavioral Health Clinic in Lafayette, LA
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional
Career Progression Group (CPG): This position participates in a CPG and may be filled as a Social Worker 1, 2, 3, or 4 level at which the vacancy is filled be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.

This incumbent is required to possess and maintain the necessary special requirements relevant to the assigned CPG level.
