Job Summary – short description of overall job duties The Department of Human Services (DHS) Social Service Coordinator is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, evaluating, and reviewing DHS County Offices to ensure measure compliance with the provisions of FNS regulations. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policies. Position Information Job Series:Social Services Programs - Career Path Classification:Social Services Coordinator Class Code:SSP11P Pay Grade:SGS07 Salary Range:$57,531 - $84,879 Job Summary The Social Services Coordinator manages and coordinates social service programs, ensuring that clients receive necessary resources and support. This role involves case management oversight, policy implementation, and interagency coordination to enhance service accessibility for Arkansas residents. Primary Responsibilities Oversee case assignments and workload distribution among social services staff. Ensure programs comply with state and federal guidelines. Develop partnerships with community resources and service providers. Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements. Provide training and support to frontline social workers. Knowledge and Skills Strong organizational and analytical skills Ability to manage and coordinate multiple cases and projects Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities Case management and service coordination Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques Knowledge of Arkansas social service laws, policies, and regulations Intermediate in data management, reporting, and documentation Familiarity with trauma-informed care and cultural competency Understanding of behavioral health and protective services Minimum Qualifications Minimum of three years of social work experience.
