We are seeking a Social Services Analyst 3 who brings a sophisticated understanding of federal funding programs and state regulations, as well as strong critical thinking abilities. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing Child Care Criminal Background Check (CCCBC) applications and thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team setting. Candidates with the following skills are encouraged to apply: + Experience working with federal funding programs and interpreting state regulations, especially as they relate to early childhood education or child care licensing + Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a proven ability to review and process criminal background checks accurately and efficiently + Demonstrated proficiency in reviewing criminal records and interpreting relevant legal statues + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with colleagues, facility staff, and external partners + Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple applications and maintain accurate records + Ability to work well in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment + Previous experience in a regulatory, compliance, or social services setting AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES: + Displaying Expertise: The ability to exhibit specialized skills or knowledge gained from experience or training + Following Policies and Procedures:The ability to comply with policies and procedures of the organization as well as State Civil Service rules, and all applicable federal and state laws. + Making Accurate Judgments: The ability to form an opinion objectively and decisively based on relevant information and in accordance with established standards. Minimum Qualifications Five years of experience in social services; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus two years of experience in social services; OR A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in social services; OR An advanced degree in a social sciences field plus one year of experience in social services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: As a Social Services Analyst 3, you will play a crucial role in supporting the health and safety of children in early learning centers and licensed child care environments. In this position, your responsibilities will include: + Supporting research efforts and participating in specialized projects as assigned. + Maintaining thorough records, preparing comprehensive reports, and managing all correspondence related to assigned program areas. + Conducting research on program policies, interpreting guidelines, and clearly communicating updates or changes to relevant field staff. + Providing training to agency staff on established procedures and policy requirements. + Assisting with the review and revision of rules, regulations, and procedures to ensure compliance with current laws and policies. + Identifying resource and training needs, and arranging for appropriate support as necessary. + Serving as a liaison between program users and technical support teams to ensure alignment with program objectives and policy standards. + Overseeing a network of contracts to ensure that all programmatic and administrative policies and procedures are effectively implemented. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected. Work Schedule: Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.
