Reporting to the Digital Strategy Manager, the Social Media Coordinator is responsible for creating, curating, and managing content across the university’s social media platforms to engage and grow our online community. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of social media trends, strong communication skills, and the ability to craft creative, compelling content that reflects the values and mission of the school. This role will collaborate with various departments, including Admissions, Student Life, and Alumni Relations, to highlight university events, achievements, and stories. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for the following duties: + Develops,curates,andmanagesdailysocialmediacontent(text,images,videos)thatengagestheuniversity community and strengthens the brand. + CreatesgraphicsandvideosusingtoolslikeCanva,AdobeCreativeSuite,orsimilarsoftware. + Monitorssocialmediatrendsandintegratesbestpracticesintocontentstrategies. + Activelyengageswithstudents,faculty,alumni,andprospectivestudentsthroughcomments,messages,and interactions, fostering a sense of community and school pride. + Respondspromptlytoinquiriesandcomments,maintainingapositiveandprofessionaltone. + Tracksandanalyzesperformancemetricsacrossplatformstomeasuretheeffectivenessofsocialmediacontent and campaigns. + Preparesmonthlyreportsonsocialmediaperformanceandprovidesinsightstooptimizefuturestrategies. + CollaborateswithdepartmentssuchasAdmissions,StudentLife,andAlumniRelationstopromoteuniversity events, achievements, and student stories. + Assistsindevelopingandexecutingsocialmediacampaignsforkeyuniversityinitiativeslikeopenhouses,student recruitment, and fundraising events. + Provideslivesocialmediacoverageforevents,capturingphotosandvideosasneededto highlightimportant moments and engage followers. + Maintains and updates the university’s social media presence on platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X,LinkedIn,TikTok,andYouTube;ensuresallsocialmediaactivitiesalignwiththeuniversity’sbranding guidelines and maintains a consistent voice. + Evaluatesnewandemergingplatformsforpotentialalignmentwiththeuniversity’sgoals. NOTE: + Until further notice, work will be performed in a hybrid manner with 70% onsite presence. + Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. **QUALIFICATIONS** Bachelor's degree required. Preferred Qualifications: + Bachelor’sdegreeinMarketing,Communications,Journalism,orarelatedfield. + 1-2yearsofexperiencemanagingsocialmediaaccounts,preferablyinhighereducationorforabrand. + Experienceworkinginauniversitysettingorwithhighereducationclients. + Proficiencyinsocialmediaplatforms(Instagram,Facebook,Twitter/X,LinkedIn,TikTok,YouTube). + Experiencewithsocialmediamanagementtools(e.g.,Hootsuite,SproutSocial,Buffer). + Basicgraphicdesignandvideoeditingskills(e.g.,Canva,AdobePhotoshop,Premiere). + Strongwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills. + Abilitytoworkindependentlyandaspartofateaminafast-pacedenvironment. + Creativemindsetwithaneyeforvisualstorytellinganddesign. + KnowledgeofSEO,SEM,anddigitalmarketingbestpractices. + Abilitytounderstandandanalyzedatatoinformcontentstrategies. + Photographyorvideographyskills. **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Supports the creation and maintenance of multimedia communications. - Collaborates with internal and external personnel to develop multimedia concepts to communicate key messages - Creates content utilizing one or more types of media (e.g., photography, video, audio, and web technologies) - Coordinates pre-production, production and post-production activities - Designs, edits, and uploads content to internal and external sites and programs - Maintains archives, materials, and project documentation - Performs related duties as assigned. **CUNY TITLE** Assistant to HEO **FLSA** Non-exempt **COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS** Salary commensurate with education and experience, from $54,725 - $59,444.
