Role Overview

As the Social Media Specialist, you will support the Marketing team in transforming Cortland’s social media presence across multiple channels into a powerful driver of brand awareness and online repuation, current and prospective resident engagement, and lease growth.  You’ll also monitor and respond to online reviews, leveraging feedback to inform strategy and strengthen our brand perception. Your support will drive strategic content creation, platform optimization and audience targeting to position Cortland as a leading name in Multifamily living across search engines and social platforms.  Key responsibilities of the role include: 

Acting as a Brand Ambassador by shining the spotlight on Cortland to grow brand awareness in the digital ecosystem. Creating informative, impactful and on-brand content that makes Cortland Website the go-to destination for apartment seekers. Identifying and implementing new opportunities for engagement initiatives, lead generation and nurturing through innovative social media strategies. Developing initiatives that convert followers into residents using data-driven insights and audience engagement tactics. Analyze performance using social media tools to analyze and optimize content development, deployment and KPI’s. Managing and aligning social media editorial calendars with broader marketing campaigns and initiatives. Staying ahead of trends by adopting the latest social media technologies and best practices. Launching traffic-driving campaigns using proven tactics like contests, shareable videos and targeted e-blasts. Monitoring and managing Cortland’s online reputation across review platforms, responding to feedback in a timely and brand-consistent manner to enhance resident satisfaction and public perception.Creating regular performance reports that highlight key metrics, trends, and actionable insights to inform strategy and demonstrate ROI across social media and reputation channels
Qualifications Strong 3+ years of experience building and running a social media program with marketing experience preferred  Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field  Experience managing online reputation platforms (e.g., Reputation.com, Yelp, Google Reviews) and responding to reviews to protect and enhance brand perceptionSolid writing and oral communications for all levels of internal and external audience  Excellent customer service/collaboration skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously  Creative mindset and sound judgement regarding copywriting, editing, and presentations   About Cortland
