Job DescriptionTo be responsible for the completion of the examination work associated with Scene of Crime (SOC) Laboratory submissions and any associated tasks ensuring a high throughput of such work in the laboratory.
Key Accountabilities:
Adhere to all aspects of the customer Operational Protocol, GLP and EFS Quality ManualCarry out necessary examinations/analysis as per standard operating procedures to required timescalesBe responsible for the integrity and continuity of exhibits, including their return while under ownership as per examination instructionsAssist in daily lab space and workflow managementCommunicate examination progress with the Workflow Supervisor and escalate any issues that may ariseCommunicate with Workflow Supervisor and/or Line Manager with regards to progress of non-casework tasksAssist with aspects of Science and Quality that fall within the skills of the individual.Responsibility for individual daily time booking on the relevant system.Seek continual improvement of methodology and processes that will have a positive impact on quality and effectiveness. Raise ideas at team meetings and huddlesAssisting with returns to customerQualificationsThe post is suited to people with experience of working in a high throughput, highly regulated environment. They will need to be able to work well as a member of a team and collaborate closely with colleagues performing similar roles. GLP is paramount in this working environment to ensure the integrity and traceability of the sample types received for testing. A practical background in the testing process is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
