This position is dedicated to producing quality man made snow to support operation of the ski area and ensure exceptional conditions for our guests throughout the winter season. The Snowmaker position is weather-dependent and supports day-to-day and overnight snowmaking operations working as part of a team to cover the alpine ski terrain with a sufficient base of snow. Perform other tasks, as assigned.Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operates various snowmaking equipment including guns, hoses, hydrants, etc.Performs routine checks on snowmaking equipment while in operation.Assists in the transportation of snowmaking equipment over difficult, often steep terrain.Participates in start/end of shift meetings.Monitors quantity and quality of snow production and makes adjustments as necessary to produce a quality snow surface as quickly and as efficiently as possible.Provides quality guest service to internal and external guests both through personal interactions and through the production of a high quality skiing and riding surface.Performs other duties as assigned.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Possess a basic understanding of mountain and snow making system layout or has the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.Must possess valid Class D driver’s license.Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions effectively.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have a strong level of physical fitness suitable to perform physically demanding work.Must be able to work extended hours outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including extreme cold and overnight shifts.Must have the ability to walk, hike, stand, climb and balance on variable, uneven terrain.Ability to safely operate snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles on difficult uneven terrain.Ability to lift 50 pounds, shovel, and engage in repetitive pushing and pulling motions.Love winter?
