SMT Production Supervisor

Volt is immediately hiring for a SMT Production Supervisor in Lake Forest, CA.

As a SMT Production Supervisor, you will:  

Plan and supervise daily operations of SMT (Surface Mounted Technology) production teams, including scheduling, labor allocation, and performance management. Ensure production meets standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and on-time delivery. Implement tactical changes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. Analyze and resolve issues related to quality, processes, equipment, materials, and labor. Provide regular status updates, reports, and presentations to support production operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality and operational challenges. Coordinate and execute employee training programs; ensure all work instructions and procedures are followed and updated. Mentor and coach team members to support career development and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Apply lean manufacturing, total quality management, and Six Sigma principles to drive operational excellence. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company safety and health regulations.

This is full time, direct hire opportunity. 

The ideal candidate will have:

High school diploma required; technical certifications preferred. Minimum 8 years of experience in contract electronics manufacturing, with 2–4 years in a supervisory role. SMT (Surface Mounted Technology), PCB, and Contract Manufacturing experience is mandatory for this role.  Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic assemblies. IPC certifications (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001) highly preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Proficient in reading schematics, assembly drawings, and test specifications. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop logical troubleshooting techniques. Excellent communication skills; able to present technical information clearly to various stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and PCB layout tools.

Salary: $85,000 - $95,000/year

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
