Site Supervisor - Occupational Health - St. Vincent

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Site Supervisor will assist in managing operations for an urgent care clinic by managing staffing, training, supplies, workflow, billing processes and customer service as well as maintaining a safe, positive work environment.

Essential Job Functions

Monitors clinic activity and patient flow to ensure efficient and effective patient care.

Participates in promotion of positive culture and teamwork.

Demonstrates excellence in care in all interactions, for both patients and internal teams.

Identifies opportunities for improvement, troubleshoots issues and/or communicate/escalate timely to Provider, direct supervisor, or other appropriate internal resources.

Maintains a safe and supportive environment by keeping the work area, exam rooms, and equipment in clean, orderly, and safe manner.

Maintains clinical and administrative skills to meet patient care and daily operational needs. 

Understands and adheres to the legal responsibilities and requirements within the role.

Open to travel to other urgent care facilities if necessary or adjusting work hours to meet patient care needs as directed by the manager.   

Performs cross-functional duties as needed, including front desk duties such as registration, scheduling, answering phones, cash handling and other duties such as scribing, ordering of supplies, etc.

Participates in interviews for front desk receptionist, medical assistant, x-ray technician and other support staff positions.

Creates and maintain staff work schedules and ensure optimal staffing across functional areas within clinic.

Assists in evaluation of behaviors and disciplinary action of staff.

Ensures employees are adequately trained to perform assigned duties safely and correctly.

Ensures excellence in customer experience by addressing customer feedback, monitoring patient satisfaction metrics, and implementing solutions for improvements.

Ensures staff compliance with company policies and procedures and state and federal rules and regulations.

Maintains proper inventory process and ordering to ensure adequate stock of supplies.

Participates in meetings for regular touch base and for special project as needed.

Assists in problem solving and implementation of operational strategies under the direction of clinic and market leadership.

Licensing/Certification

BLS Basic Life Support (required within 90 days of hire)

Maintain current licensure/certification if applicable (MA, ED Tech, ED Tech Advanced) (preferred)

Education

High School Diploma or GED (required)

Work Experience

2 years experience in healthcare setting (required)

1 year experience in supervisory/leadership role (required)

Training

Electronic Health Record – EPIC, Docutap or Experity (preferred)

Skills

Strong oral, verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail

Critical thinking, problem solving skills and ability to work independently

Strong conflict resolution skills and communication with customers

Evaluate employee performance and behaviors and escalate as necessary

Basic computing skills

Knowledge of billing operations including ICD-10 and CPT coding, medical terminology.

Requires judgment in selection of alternative courses of action.

Adapts standard principles to new or changed conditions.

Requires listening skills to maintain cooperative associations.
