Job Description As a Site Quality Assurance Engineer, you are tasked with implementing quality control measures at the fabrication yard, ensuring all activities comply with company, regulatory, client, and stakeholder standards and requirements. Within the project team, you report to the Project Quality Manager or Program Quality Manager, providing essential support for quality management at the yard. You help facilitate communication between the Project Team, clients, contractors, and vendors regarding yard-related quality matters. Your role is key in promoting strong quality leadership, fostering positive behaviours, and cultivating a culture of excellence among all project participants at the yard. You also help lead quality initiatives and ensure standards are upheld throughout project execution. Externally, you report to the Global Quality Manager and contribute to departmental priorities, including involvement in company-wide improvement programs.
Job Responsibilities Support the Project Quality Manager in executing quality management activities within the project. Act as the main contact for client quality matters at the yard in the absence of the Project Quality Manager / MPF Program Quality Manager, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project goals. Assist in implementing the project quality plan. Develop, update, and maintain the Project Quality Audit Plan; conduct internal and external audits, and follow up to ensure timely closure of corrective actions. Prepare and manage the Site QA Surveillance Plan and schedule, carry out surveillance activities, and ensure findings are addressed promptly. Review quality-related documentation from vendors in a timely manner. Deliver quality induction and awareness sessions for all stakeholders, including vendors and subcontractors, on project quality requirements. Monitor and follow up on quality notifications and escalations, ensuring adherence to established processes. Analyse project quality performance, provide regular updates on quality activities, and ensure timely reporting in line with departmental and project deadlines. Engage actively with internal stakeholders on quality-related topics. Participate in the qualification and selection of vendors and subcontractors, focusing on quality criteria. Share feedback and lessons learned to enhance systems and tools within the discipline. Take part in quality incident investigations and assist in resolving issues efficiently.
Job Requirements 5-10 years in Quality Assurance and Quality Management in the oil and gas sector, including a minimum of 5 years in fabrication yard environments. Must have ISO9001 Lead Auditor Certificate Strong background in Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9000, ISO/TS 29001, and ISO/IEC 80079-34, with a thorough understanding of related processes and interfaces. In-depth knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and best practices, including quality assurance techniques for large-scale construction and fabrication projects. Solid expertise in welding, coating, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), preservation, and Ex (explosive atmospheres); relevant certifications are advantageous. Proficient in quality investigation tools and methods, such as root cause analysis, FMEA, and CAPA.
