Job Summary:

Site Manager is responsible for coordination of the construction on the project. Coordinates compliance with the schedule, safety, cost, and quality decisions in conjunction with the owners Project Manager.

 Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Organization, flexibility, outstanding focus and strong communication are critical in performing duties which include, but are not limited to:

Manages and coordinates all on-site construction activities for compliance with the project schedule and monitors and enforces compliance with contract requirements. Supervises and mentors all managers; monitors their activities and provides leadership. Monitors and reports on construction productivity and schedule performance (including trends) to the owners Project Manager. Takes actions necessary to meet project budget and schedule requirements. Directs implementation of construction schedule recovery plans as required. Coordinates the Construction Completion Walk down, and manages the close out of all punch list items. Assists owners with landowner/public relations. Conducts daily coordination meeting with field staff & contractors. Reports weekly schedule and commodity installation status to the owners Project Manager. Monitors extra work authorization requests, back charges and supplier and subcontractor progress/final payment requests for acceptance and is responsible for subordinates providing the timely tracking information to Project Administrator. Has full knowledge of the safety program and acts as the Safety Representative on site in the absence of the regular owners Safety Supervisor.  Has general knowledge of all disciplines of construction and is able to stand in for each lead discipline. Resolves safety and quality issues with the contractor’s safety and quality managers. Understands the major commercial and deliverable terms of the construction contracts and manages within these terms. Writes the construction portion of the construction monthly report. Coordinates with the Field Engineers or home office engineers on engineering deliverables Responsible for the effective management of construction Manufacturer’s Service Technicians and the timesheet tracking of hourly employees. Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.; Supervises work of others. Responsible for discipline, of their subordinates.

Skills

Experience with solar energy, wind energy, transmission line or related projects of 20M+ General knowledge of construction principles/practices required Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work Experience leading successful project team, including development of employee and maintaining relationships with external entities

 

Competencies

The requirements listed below are competencies required to perform the job successfully.

Minimum 10 years as a Construction Manager (preferred in the renewable field) Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred Current driver’s license

 

Education, Certifications, and Experience

Preferred

State Electrical Journeyman or Master License Schooling in Construction/Electrical

Physical Requirement Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment. Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics and tunnels. Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50 pounds regularly/occasionally Must be able to respond quickly to sounds. Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations. Must be able to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds. Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day. Must be able to work in cold environments and on concrete floors. Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain. Working Conditions working indoors and outdoors excessive heat excessive cold extreme weather conditions excessive humidity excessive dampness or chilling excessive noise, continuous slippery and uneven walking surfaces working around machinery with moving parts working around moving objects or vehicles working around moving machinery/heavy equipment working in close proximity to others

 

Travel Requirements

Rotational including 3 weeks on and 6 days off (Thursday thru Tuesday)
