Element is a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification, and we’re looking for an Site Manager to join our Operational Leadership team at our laboratory in Wiesloch.

 

Reporting directly to the Cluster Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that timely, accurate, and reliable test results are delivered to our clients.

 

As an Site Manager, you will take on a variety of leadership responsibilities that drive operational excellence, team development, and customer satisfaction. You will oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, ensure compliance with established safety rules, uphold our company’s code of conduct, and lead your team in line with Element’s policies and procedures.

Verantwortlichkeiten

Lead and execute the SQDC routine, ensuring all Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics are continuously met and improved upon

Facilitate daily operational meetings to review performance, address bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance overall performance

Actively engage with teams to uphold SQDC principles, ensuring the operational standards are consistently met across all shifts

Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for operational enhancements, cost reduction, and overall efficiencyFoster a culture of trust, feedback and innovation, encouraging team ownership and involvement in improving operational processesFocus on safety improvement initiativesEnsure implementation and continuous improvement of 5S methodology

Provide regular operational updates to Ops Manager, highlighting key performance indicators, productivity metrics, and operational challenges

 

Maintain open communication between departments, shifts, and teams, ensuring issues are addressed in real-time and progress is tracked

Ensure that all teams are informed of daily goals, changes, and updates to facilitate smooth operations and achieve objectives

Fähigkeiten / Qualifikationen Proven experience within a laboratory and knowledge of laboratory safetyA bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from an accredited 4-year college or university in an engineering or technical-related discipline with Professional Engineer (PE) designation desirableUnderstands that all functions within the lab fall under their direct purviewWorks closely with Ops Manager regarding areas of lab development and supportAbility to organize the lab in line with the strategic, operational, and technical goals of the entire companyStrong organisational, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills to effectively establish and maintain two-way communications to understand the needs and concerns of all departmentsAbility to effectively provide managerial guidance to all colleagues on all functions within the labAbility to deeply analyse and resolve operational, finance and other significant business issues on a daily basisIs able to translate this market awareness into both a strategic and tactical management approach which contributes to the success of the lab at all levelsHas a proven track record of success regarding managerial, technical and operational competency both inside and outside of the lab
