Conducts on-site inspections for electrical systems, ensuring installation is per approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect electrical installations including lighting, power, distribution panels, and containment.Ensure compliance with local regulations, British Standards (BS), and approved shop drawings.Attend inspections, testing, and commissioning activities for electrical systems.Coordinate with ICT and mechanical inspectors for integrated systems.Report deficiencies and verify corrective works.Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.Conduct thorough assessments of electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and control panels.Verify proper labelling and identification of electrical components and circuits.Perform insulation resistance tests and earth continuity checks on electrical installations.Assess the adequacy of earthing systems and lightning protection installations.Evaluate the implementation of energy-efficient solutions in electrical designs.Liaise with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve electrical installation issues.Maintain detailed records of inspections, including photographic evidence and written reports.Stay updated on the latest electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices.Provide guidance and recommendations for improving electrical safety and system performance.QualificationsEducation and Certifications:
Technical Institute Diploma / Bachelor's degree in relevant Engineering field (i.e. Electrical)Professional certification in utility inspection or related field (e.g. NICEIC, GIRS, or equivalent) is preferredExperience:
Minimum of 8+ years' experience in similar projects, specifically in dry utilities inspectionMiddle East experience preferredDemonstrated experience in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and regulatory codes related to dry utilities.Additional InformationAbout AECOM
