What this job involves:

As a Site Engineering Manager at JLL Work Dynamics in Tokyo-Meguro, you will provide outstanding engineering services by proactively leading, monitoring, and managing onsite client account activities for a prestigious American multinational technology company focused on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. This senior leadership role combines technical engineering expertise with team management responsibilities, requiring you to manage direct and indirect reports while serving as a subject matter expert in general building engineering services and maintaining service delivery excellence according to established SLAs. You will play a crucial role in JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facilities management services by developing Standard Operating Procedures, providing emergency response support, driving global engineering initiatives as Japan POC, and creating an inclusive workplace environment that celebrates authenticity as a strength.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Manage direct and indirect staff in performance of onsite engineering services while ensuring service delivery accordance with SLA between JLL and clientDevelop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for engineering services and critical environments while providing technical training and quality control to local teamsProvide emergency and non-emergency response support for engineering incidents including reporting, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolutionDrive and lead global/regional engineering initiatives and programs as Japan POC while coordinating with JLL Operations personnel as necessaryImplement regional standards for engineering operations incorporating client, JLL, and local statutory requirements while managing PPM programsManage engineering-related budgets while implementing innovation programs that reduce costs and increase productivitySupport JLL Energy and Sustainability Service strategies to achieve measurable improvements in energy consumptionComplete client engineering-related project works including coordination with contractors and vendors while providing 24/7 emergency support

Required Qualifications:

University degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related engineering discipline8+ years of experience in facilities management, critical engineering, and/or building servicesExcellent people skills with ability to interact with wide range of client and vendor staffExperience in continuous improvement initiatives, client communication, and technical reportsConfident communication skills with good presentation abilitiesSelf-motivated, confident, and energetic approach with goal-oriented focusAbility to work across multiple matrix reporting environments while prioritizing activitiesTeam player with ability to cooperate and work well with others to meet targets

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional qualification such as PE (USA), CEng (UK), or local equivalentExperience with Certified Energy Manager (CEM) programsBackground in critical environments and data center operationsKnowledge of Japanese statutory requirements and local engineering standardsFamiliarity with multinational technology company environmentsExperience with vendor management and service contract oversightUnderstanding of energy and sustainability strategies in corporate environmentsBackground in emergency response and business continuity planning
