Site Director (Site Director, Fulfillment Services)

 

 

 

Carbel, part of Arvato, is a full-service 3PL provider serving national and international clients across various industries, with a strong focus on fashion and retail. The Site Director oversees the fulfillment center. The Site Director will lead and direct site operations to achieve key goals and objectives and the execution of a business operational plan. They will own fulfillment client P/Ls, provide financials (EBIT), and strive to deliver client satisfaction.

YOUR TASKS

 

Develop yearly budget and manage / own site P&L to ensure financial goals are met

Drive, develop and lead continuous improvement initiatives and activities towards achieving yearly improvement

Build a culture of continuous improvement 

Develop talent and site succession plans

Drive high levels of client satisfaction by interacting with client account management and clients at all levels

Drive high levels of employee engagement by developing creative ways to celebrate success

Drive safety, policy, and procedure adherence

Provide direction and support for direct reports. Coach to ensure career development, productivity and quality objectives are consistently achieved

Maintain a working knowledge of all operational processes

Review and follow-up on results of production, efficiency, costs, and inventory accuracy

Interact with senior management while providing updates and solutions on issues about business impact

Collaborate with other teams to support best practice sharing and drive network improvement

Strong and positive interaction with new and existing clients

Adherence to all applicable Federal, State and Municipal safety and labor law

Ensure that the facility is in compliance with Federal/ State/ local ordinances, laws and regulations

YOUR PROFILE 

Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive Operations and management experience required

Ability to lead, direct and coordinate all activities for operating and managing a multiclient fulfillment center

Strong communication and presentation skills

Sense of urgency to immediately identify and implement corrections

Lean thinker, continuous improvement leadeR

Ability to plan, direct and implement site operations to meet planned KPIs and SLA 

High financial acumen with the ability to forecast and manage an annual budget while managing the operational processes within set guidelines

Hands-on problem-solving skills

Proficiency developing metrics planning (good working knowledge of spreadsheets

Organizational agility and good influencing skills

Financial/Cost Management and ownership via operational budget management experience required

Experience leading culture improvements and/or transformation required

Experience managing a 3PL fulfillment operation highly preferred, ideally in ecommerce, direct to consumer, business to consumer (D2C/B2C)

Background and experience in Lean and Continuous Improvement methodology is required

Experience in a fast paced, high volume, multi-client, unit-pick fulfillment center environment highly preferred

Management of a distribution facility with multi-level leadership and 200+ full-time associates with experience managing 600-1000+ seasonal associates preferred

Ability to understand, organize and thrive in a highly variable volume operation, balancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost in both very low and very high-volume periods

Must be proactive, numbers driven, and an effective planner

Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems a plus (Manhattan WMS and Pyramid WCS)

Must be able to lift 50lbs
